COLORADO SPRINGS – February 10, 2015 – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) today announced a Platinum partnership with RehabCare, the leading and premier provider of physical, occupational and speech-language rehabilitation services in 47 states. RehabCare provides therapy throughout the full continuum of care, including long-term acute care hospitals, nursing and rehabilitation centers, inpatient acute rehab
units, independent rehabilitation facilities and hospice and home care locations.
This is the first-time the NWBA will work with a professional partner who can provide technical assistance to help implement the new Classification system for the NWBA players. The NWBA plans to use this program as a model to implement a long-term program across the country to professionalize the classification system, critical in the Paralympic movement to provide athletes with physical disabilities better opportunities to fair and equitable competition.
The Junior Division EC is looking for nominations for their executive Committee.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO February 10, 2015- For 20 years, there have been no veterans in the NWBA’s High Performance Pool. This year, two retired Marines participated in the 2015 USA Men’s National Selection camp. Marine Corporal Jorge Salazar (retired) and Sergeant Anthony McDaniel Jr. (retired) competed for spots and changed history for veterans in the NWBA. These Marines represented the first veterans in the last two decades to make the NWBA High Performance Pool.
