Background Check Requirement

Mandatory Background Checks & Screening Policy

NWBA Policies and Procedures state Article III, Section 3.4 (4.): Employees and volunteers of NWBA, and member clubs who interact directly and frequently with athletes as a regular part of their duties and individuals with any interest in a member club must be non-athlete members of NWBA and satisfactorily complete criminal background checks as required by NWBA. This does not apply to volunteers such as timers, scorekeepers, computer operators, etc. who only have limited contact with athletes during a game. Any individual who is banned, currently suspended or ineligible for membership is pro­hibited from serving as timers, scorekeepers, or computer operator, or otherwise being in the competition venue at any time in connection with a NWBA activity.

Background checks are now fully integrated into the NWBA Non-Athlete Registration session; one easy step just register to become an NWBA member!

All background checks must be completed through a third party provider recognized by SportsEngine. No other form of background checks will be accepted.
