Denver, Milwaukee and PossAbilities Shield Victorious to Open 2016 NWBA Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

Day 1 Action - Seattle

The 2016 NWBA Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament started on Friday with a trio of games at West Seattle High School in Seattle, Wash. The three-day event will crown the Women’s National Champion on Sunday morning.

The Denver Lady Rolling Nuggets started the tournament with a commanding 59-20 win over the hometown favorite Seattle Storm. The Milwaukee Lady Bucks cruised to a 77-27 victory over the Lady Hawks of LWSRA. The PossAbilities Shield Maidens beat the ParaSport Spokane, 40-6.

Up first on Saturday will be three games at 8 a.m., featuring: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Shield Maidens; Dallas Mavericks vs. Seattle Storm; and Denver Lady Rolling Nuggets vs. University of Arizona. The pool competition will continue with another trio of games at 9:45 a.m. with: Dallas Mavericks vs. University of Arizona; Milwaukee Bucks vs. ParaSport Spokane; and Shield Maidens vs. LWSRA.

Following a lunch break, the preliminary pool play will conclude with LWSRA vs. ParaSports Spokane; Denver Nuggets vs. Dallas Mavericks; and University of Arizona vs. Seattle Storm. 
Cross pool play will finish out Saturday games, with all placement games set for Sunday at 9 a.m. The National Title Game will tip off at 11 a.m. on Sunday. 

The Pool A teams are: Denver Nuggets; Dallas Mavericks; University of Arizona; and Seattle Storm. The Pool B teams are: Milwaukee Bucks; Shield Maidens; LWSRA; and ParaSport Spokane.
