2017-18 Adult Division Pre-Season Rankings Announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – The Adult Division Executive Committee announced its 2017-18 Pre-Season Rankings for all three divisions. The defending Adult Division I Champions Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks return in the No. 1 slot and look to defend their title at the 2018 National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament presented by ABC Medical in Louisville, Kentucky, April 12-15. The Mavericks return with several key players, including 2016 Paralympic gold medalist Aaron Gouge and 2017 NWBT Adult Division I MVP Andreas Kraft. 

The New York Rolling Knicks come in ranked second behind rival Mavericks and look for a rematch after coming up short against them 78-83 (OT) in the 2017 NWBA Division I National Championship Game. The Knicks are led by 2016 Paralympic gold medalist and Team USA co-captain Steve Serio and longtime member of the Canadian National Team Patrick Anderson. The Sacramento Rollin' Kings come in as the number three ranked team for Adult Division I with some new additions to the roster built around former U.S. Men's National Team member Joseph Chambers.

In Adult Division II the Miami Valley Raptors come in at the No. 1 ranked favorite as they look to improve on a 5th place at the 2017 NWBT. San Antonio ParaSport Spurs enter the 2017-18 campaign as the No. 2 ranked team, behind the Raptors who they fell to 76-56 at the 2017 NWBT. The Nassau Kings are slotted into the No. 3 spot after finishing last season with a impressive 27-4 record.

The TIRR Houston Hotwheels - DIII start the season in the top spot for Adult Division III coming off a 16-2 record and 5th place finish in 2016-17 season. The Columbus Wheelchair Basketball Club and Rancho Renegades anchor the No. 2 and 3 rankings, respectively for the Adult Division III.

The top 16 ranked teams for each Adult Division will earn an invite to the 2018 NWBT presented by ABC Medical in Louisville, Kentucky, April 12-15. The 48 teams from the three Adult Divisions will battle it out for a coveted national title on 12 basketball courts over four days of competition.
