NWBA Rule & Case Book Available for 2017-18

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The 2017-18 National Wheelchair Basketball Association Rule and Case Books are now available NWBA teams to reference. The NWBA Rule and Case Books include all new rule changes and revisions that have been adopted for the 2017-18 NWBA season. All updates are notated in the NWBA Rule Book with red text.

All revisions to the NWBA Rule Book have been reviewed and approved by divisional leadership, National Wheelchair Basketball Officials Association and the NWBA Board of Directors. The NWBA Rule and Case Book are immediately in affect for use of competition during NWBA sanctioned events.  

The Adult Division Executive Committee adjusted the timing regulations for Adult Division I, Adult Division II and Adult Division IIII to four 10-minute periods. Additionally, teams of the Adult Division will now receive three 30 second timeouts and two 60 second timeouts. Please see Adult Division Rules, Rule 5 Scoring and Timing Regulations.

The Women’s Division has adopted the NCCA Women’s rule for advancing the ball in the last minute of the game when granted a timeout. Please see Women’s Division Rules, Rule 1 Court and Equipment in the NWBA Rule Book for a detailed explanation.

During the 2017 Junior Division Delegate meeting the Junior Division delegates approved the following revision, “Molten BGM5X encouraged for evaluation and acceptable in sanctioned games”. For more information please reference the Junior Division Playing Rules on page 13 of the NWBA Rule Book.
