This past weekend, October 27-29, held a lot of excitement with various NWBA sanctioned events all over the country.

Fright in the Fort

The Turnstone Flyers hosted “Fright in the Fort,” at Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fright in the Fort was a two-day competition for Prep and Varsity Divisions.

In third game place the Achievement Centers Jr. Wheelchair Cavaliers (Jr. Cavs) of Strongsville, Ohio were matched up against the Peoria Wildcats of Peoria, Illinois. The Jr. Cavs captured third place with a 34-23 victory over the Wildcats.

The LWSRA Jr. Hawks – Prep of New Lenox, Illinois undefeated (4-0) in the Prep Division. The Jr. Turnstone Flyers of Fort Wayne followed close behind with only one loss (finishing 3-1) in the championship game against the Jr. Hawks. The Michigan Rolling Challengers/Pistons Prep team placed third.

2nd Annual Halloween Hoops Bash

Auburn University hosted the 2nd Annual Halloween Hoops Bash at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum in Auburn, Alabama for Divisions II and III.

Auburn University swept the championship title against Lakeshore Storm 65-33 which left Shepherd Center II and Auburn DIII to duel for third place. After a nail-bitter game Saturday that left Shepherd ahead Auburn DIII by a mere three points, 43-40, this was sure to be a close game. With Saturday’s game in mind, Shepherd pulled ahead early and kept the lead throughout the game defeating Auburn D3 39-18.

12th Annual Mizzou Classic

The University of Missouri hosted the 12th Annual Mizzou Classic this past weekend in Columbia, Missouri. The two-day tournament consists of four divisions, DI, DII, DIII and the Intercollegiate Men’s Division.

The Missouri Predators of Kansas City, Missouri took first place followed by the University of Missouri of Columbia, Missouri. Third place went to the Naval Medical Center San Diego Wolf Pack of San Diego, California.
