The link to the Officials Exam is provided via email to those officials with a completed NWBA Non-Athlete Membership Registration.

As a registered official, please note the following must completed to ensure compliance with NWBA Bylaws and Policies & Procedures:

• All Non-Athletes must have a verified complete NWBA Membership Registration 10 days prior to participating in any NWBA activities. All individuals registering within 10 days of an NWBA sanctioned event will NOT be eligible to participate. A Complete Non-Athlete Registration for Officials includes a current season passed Background Check, Safe Sport Training (completed after August 2, 2023) and successful completion of the Officials Exam.
   
• Officials (Floor Officials and/or Referees) must successfully complete the Officials Exam on an annual basis. Please note the following:
  1. A passing score of 70% or higher is required for all Officials.
  2. Each Official is allowed to submit one (1) exam - i.e., there is one opportunity to complete the exam. After it is completed/submitted, it cannot be accessed again.
  3. Officials who scores on the 1st attempt a score below 70% will not be eligible for post-season determination. Any officials who receive a score below 70% will be required to take a 2nd exam which will be administered by the NWBA Director of Officials.
  4. There is a six (6) hour time limit after beginning the exam.
  5. All officials will be required to upload a copy of their current season (completed after August 2, 2023) SafeSport Training completion certificate to access the exam.
  6. The exam can be accessed via the Canvas website or mobile site or the Canvas app.

  1. Review the NWBA Rulebook, Casebook and NCAA Casebook by visiting: www.nwba.org/officialsresources 
  2. Visit: https://canvas.instructure.com/enroll/BYK4ER 
  3. Click on the "Enroll in Course" Blue Button 
  4. Create a login (Email & Password)
  5. Click on the left side panel link labeled "Module" to access content of course. 
  6. In the "Assignments" section, upload your current SafeSport Training completion certificate (certificate must be dated 2-Aug-2023 or after).
  7. After uploading certificate, complete the 50-question exam. 

Officials may register and complete the exam at any time, however, to be eligible for selection for any national tournament, officials must be registered and have completed the test by December 1.
