APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Per the IWBF Handbook, athletes must not have had their 23rd birthday on 31st of December in the year of the competition. Thus, athletes must be born after December 31, 2002, to be eligible for selection on the 2025 U.S. Men's Under 23 Team.  

As outlined in the Men’s U23 World Championship Athlete Selection Procedure, submitting this Application is a REQUIREMENT for athletes to be considered for selection to the 2025 Men's Under 23 Team.

APPLICATION TIMELINE:

• Application deadline: October 1, 2024
• Team Selection Committee to Review Applications and Invitations sent to Athletes: during the week of October 1, 2024
• Invited Athletes must accept or decline during the week by October 7, 2024
• Confirmed Invited Athletes must arrange travel (book flight, confirm drive plans, etc.) and submit travel plan to Team Leader: before October 23, 2024

U23 Men's Team Try Out Camp = November 6-10, 2024 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center - Colorado Springs, CO (CSOPTC)

Invitation Note: All athletes invited to the Try-out Camp will be responsible to arrange and pay for their own travel cost to/from the host site. Housing, food, and local ground transportation (if needed) will be provided for all athletes invited to Camp(s).

Team Qualification Note: The (IWBF required) team qualification slot has not yet been allocated--USA will attempt to secure that slot through the IWBF Americas Men's U23 Zonal Qualifier Tournament, TBD date and location.  Additional details regarding the qualification process and event will be shared when available from the IWBF and IWBF Americas.

APPLICATION TIMELINE
•    June 26 – Application Open
•    July 29 - Application Close--extended from July 15
•    Applications will be reviewed and interviews will be scheduled with the intention to announce all Staff selected by August 2024.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENT
Staff positions of head coach, assistant coach, medical, team leader are required to submit an Application to be considered for selection to the Team Staff which will represent USA at the 2025 IWBF Men's U23 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship.

Staff and Athletes should plan for the following:

• Try-Out Camp: November 6-10, 2024 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center - Colorado Springs, CO (CSOPTC)
• IWBF Americas Championship First Entry due (20 players): January 15, 2025
• Selection Camp: January 15-19, 2025 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center - Colorado Springs, CO (CSOPTC)
• IWBF Americas Championship Final Entry due (12 players): February 15, 2025
• IWBF Americas Championship First Entry due (20 players): TBD-projected February 2025-typically 4 months before competition
• IWBF Men’s U23 Americas Championship (Zonal Qualifier): April 2-6, 2025 in Bogotá, Colombia
• IWBF Americas Championship Final Entry due (12 players): TBD-projected April 2025--typically 2 months before Worlds
• Training Camp: May 21-25, 2025 at location TBD (will most likely be Lakeshore Foundation – Birmingham, AL or U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center - Colorado Springs, CO (CSOPTC))
• IWBF Men’s U23 World Championship: June 12-20, 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil
