Save the Date: Monday, July 20 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time

Dear NWBA Members,

I hope that this message finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. It is an understatement to say that we have never experienced times quite like these. NWBA Leadership (i.e. Board, National Office and Division Leadership) has been in frequent contact to think through what the upcoming season will entail. We’ve also taken an intentional approach to seeking input from Athletes and Members, including:

- Membership Survey

- Team Representative Survey

- Again, active dialogue with Division Leadership

The overwhelming feedback has been that there is a desire to return to play this season. Of course, the feedback has also consistently highlighted that Members want to do so in the safest way possible. Returning to play in the safest way possible, and respectful of local government guidelines, is of the utmost importance.

The Board of Directors has another meeting scheduled for July 13th, and our intent is to meet with Division Leadership and Athlete Advisory Council shortly thereafter. We know that there is a strong desire to hear the latest thinking on whether we will have a 2020 / 2021 season and what that will consist of.

We plan to host an NWBA Town Hall on July 20th at 8:30pm Eastern Time. The purpose will be to provide a transparent update with our Membership on the collective Leadership’s view on the season, and timing for when athletes, teams and other important members (e.g. officials and classifiers) can expect our “Return to Play” protocol. That protocol will highlight the necessary precautions for a safe return to play for our Members

Please save the date, and plan to attend this important Town Hall. We will solicit questions in advance of the session, so that we ensure we are addressing the questions and concerns that all of you have. We look forward to an engaging discussion, and thank you in advance for making the time.

Sincerely,

Will Waller
CEO, NWBA
