COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association is honored to announce the NWBA Toyota Team of the Month for March. The winning team is the Sportability of Iowa Rolling Panthers - Varsity! 

The Rolling Panthers have continued to practice once a week but rarely have had all players present due to the traveling distance. Several players travel two hours one way to practice on Saturday afternoons. This year two players from Minnesota (due to COVID) have joined the varsity team and travel three hours one way to practice. This means that the parents and players are truly dedicated to the program. Many of the players have dreams and goals of playing the next level.

This young Varsity team has only attended two tournaments during the 2020/2021 season to date and have gone undefeated. The team currently has a 5-0 record. The Rolling Panthers have a great amount of talent and complement each other on the court. The “original” Panthers have accepted the Minnesota players as one of their own at practice and during games. They joke, laugh and give each other friendly advice/ complaints.

The coaches make sure the players understand that it is okay to make and error, but how you handle it is what counts. Over the past four years the team has grown on and off the court. The team recently traveled to Nebraska and Sportability of Iowa Rolling Panthers will be hosting a tournament April 17th & 18th. Congratulations to the Sportability of Iowa Rolling Panthers - Varsity!  

NWBA Toyota Team of the Month winners and nominees will receive a “Team of the Month” winner or nominee certificate.
