Be part of the winningest program in international wheelchair basketball history, USA Wheelchair Basketball (NWBA), by trying out to represent Team USA in 2022. The Men’s Paralympic Team just earned back-to-back Gold Medals with their performance in Tokyo, while the Women’s Paralympic Team earned back-to-back medals of their own (Bronze in Tokyo; Gold in Rio). This is your chance to put your skills to the test against some of the best athletes in the USA who will be vying for a spot on the America’s Cup and World Championship Teams.

The deadline to submit an NWBA High Performance Player Application for Men and Women is 11:59 p.m. MT on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Chosen athletes for selection camp will receive an invite by 11:59 p.m. MT on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

All athletes interested in trying out for any team must complete a 2022 NWBA High Performance Player Application. Please click on the links below to complete a 2022 NWBA High Performance Player Application.

A valid membership with the NWBA for 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons are required to submit a 2022 NWBA High Performance Player Application. More details on NWBA membership and registration can also be found at https://www.nwba.org/individualregistration.

The following are the selection camps for the 2022 Toyota Team U.S.A. Men's and Women's Wheelchair Basketball National Teams:

2022 Toyota Team USA Men’s Selection Camp

December 31-January 9, 2022* at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO

2022 Toyota Team USA Women’s Selection Camp

January 12-19, 2022* at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO

*The finalized dates for the initial selection camps will be shared once confirmed with team coaching staffs.

Housing and meals will be provided by the NWBA/OPTC. Players are responsible for their own transportation to and from the OTC for selection camps. The OTC Shuttle Service can be provided from the Colorado Springs Airport to the OTC for flight times between 4:30 a.m. MT and 10:30 p.m. MT each day.

Please be prepared to provide all of the following information on your NWBA High Performance Player Application:

-Basic Info (Name, Gender, Age, etc.)

-Contact Info (Address, Email, Phone, Social Security, etc.)

-Personal Info (Height, Weight, etc.)

-Experience Info (Team, Coach Name/Email, Awards, etc.)

-Equipment & Apparel (Wheelchair Dimensions, Apparel Sizing, etc.)

-Travel Info (Preferred Airports, etc.)

-Documentation (Copy of Passport and Drivers License)

-Emergency & Medical Info (Contact, Physician Info, etc.)

This is the first step in the process for both the U.S. Men’s and Women’s teams to repeat success on the court with their recent podium finishes at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
