COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Hall of Fame Committee for the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is now accepting nominations for the 2022 NWBA Hall of Fame induction. The NWBA Hall of Fame is for competitors and non-competitors who made a significant contribution to the growth and playing of the sport of wheelchair basketball.
Two classes of individuals shall be clearly identified for inclusion in the Hall of Fame.
This class includes all of those who, by virtue of their unique and singular achievements as players, are deserving of recognition in the Hall of Fame. No less than one (1) such competitor shall be elected into the Hall of Fame in each calendar year.
This class includes all those, individuals with or without disabilities, who are deserving of recognition by virtue of their considered contributions to the development, growth, support, and advancement of wheelchair basketball without regard to their prowess as players.
The criteria for selecting individuals to the Hall of Fame in each class are as follows.
Nominations for membership to the Hall of Fame may be made by any member of the NWBA and submitted to the NWBA Hall of Fame Committee for its consideration via the official nomination form. Nominations must be submitted to the Hall of Fame Chairperson.
Please complete the form with detailed and substantiated information about the nominee(s), and their contributions to wheelchair basketball. The NWBA Hall of Fame Committee would appreciate stats, articles, and other information.
Please complete the form, along with three Letters of Support for the Nominee (in Word format) that verify and personalize the nominees’ unique qualifications. All nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Mountain time on Monday, February 21.
Nomination to the NWBA Hall of Fame does NOT guarantee selection and Induction. Each nominee’s qualifications are carefully examined and evaluated. Nominees may be on the ballot for several years before selection.
