COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is pleased to announce that David Greig has been appointed as Chair of the NWBA High Performance Committee. 

Greig previously supported the NWBA by contracting with the Coaches Education Committee to design the American Development Model (ADM). He has a background in coaching, program development, management and fundraising across multiple sports and at all levels of the Paralympic Movement. Greig is co-founder of ParaSport Spokane (based in Spokane, WA) and owner of TVH Mobility Group - a company that provides information and services about mobility and life enhancing products.

Greig will lead the High Performance Committee joining the highly decorated team of current Committee members; Andrea Woodson-Smith, Eric Barber, Josh Turek and Gail Gaeng.

Darlene Hunter, President of the NWBA Board of Directors, feels David's high performance experience, organizational skills, and knowledge of development pipeline will be extremely beneficial to the high performance program.

“As a current Board member and former National Team athlete, I have perspective from both roles and understand that the importance of maintaining the long-term success of our National Teams is imperative to the support that we receive from the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and making us an attractive organization for our partners, sponsors and donors. I believe that David will bring fresh perspective and passion to supporting our National Teams and Development Pipeline. which is critical to achieving international competition success and awareness for our sport.”

NWBA Board Athlete Director and Vice Chair of the NWBA AAC , Andrea Woodson-Smith said that she is excited to work with David.

“I am excited for David’s willingness to become Chair of the High Performance Committee. Our HPC is a strong group—all of whom bring a various perspectives and unique experience to the team. As a volunteer driven organization, we are successful because of incredible volunteer leadership who have a passion for the sport of wheelchair basketball.”

Greig succeeds Jim Glatch, head coach of the men’s wheelchair basketball team at Edinboro University, who resigned from the Chair role due to expanded responsibilities with Edinboro. 

Hunter is appreciative of Glatch’s leadership and volunteer service throughout the past year. 

“I’m thankful for Glatch’s hard work and dedication to ensuring success of the NWBA’s High Performance Program throughout the past year and all that he has done previous to the High Performance Chair role in support of the NWBA.” 

Greig is thankful for being appointed to the HPC Chair role.
