Abby Dunkin, Rose Hollermann and Bailey Moody Elected to Team USA Athletes' Commission

Four-time Paralympian and Paralympic Gold Medalist Rose Hollermann has been elected by her peers, in accordance with the NWBA and USOPC Bylaws, to serve as the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Representative on the Team USA Athletes’ Commission (Team USA AC). In this role, Rose will also fill an Athlete Director position on the NWBA Board of Directors and a member position on the NWBA Athlete Advisory Council, as outlined in the NWBA Bylaws.

Hollermann has long been a passionate ambassador for wheelchair basketball, beginning her journey in the NWBA Junior Division and advancing to Team USA excellence. At just 15 years old, she first represented Team USA on the court. She went on to compete in the 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 Paralympic Games, securing a gold medal in Rio (2016), a bronze in Tokyo (2020), and most recently, a silver in Paris (2024). In addition to her Paralympic achievements, Hollermann has represented the United States at numerous international tournaments throughout her career.

Prior to this election, Hollermann served for two years as the NWBA Alternate Representative on the Team USA Athletes’ Commission.

Bailey Moody, a two-time Paralympian, has also been elected by her peers, in accordance with the NWBA and USOPC Bylaws, to serve as the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Alternate Representative on the Team USA Athletes’ Commission (Team USA AC). In this role, Bailey will also fill an Athlete Director position on the NWBA Board of Directors and a member position on the NWBA Athlete Advisory Council, as outlined in the NWBA Bylaws.

Moody’s Team USA career includes stints with the 2017 and 2022 IWBF Americas Cup teams, where she earned silver medals both times. She also won a silver at the 2019 Lima Parapan American Games, a bronze at the 2022 IWBF World Championships, and contributed to Team USA’s bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games and silver at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. Additionally, Moody helped lead the University of Alabama to its fourth consecutive NWBA Women’s Intercollegiate Division National Championship.

In other notable news, Abby Dunkin, 2016 Paralympic Gold Medalist, has been named General Paralympic Alternate Representative on the Team USA Athletes’ Commission. Dunkin continues to advocate for the sport while playing in the NWBA Women’s Division and serving as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Rollin' Hornets.

The Team USA Athletes' Commission (formally known as the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee's Athlete Advisory Council--USOPC AAC) plays a vital role in enhancing communication between the USOPC and active Team USA athletes. It serves as an advisory body to the USOPC board of directors, with elected representatives from a variety of sport organizations affiliated with the USOPC, including those participating in the Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, and Para Pan American Games.
