The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is excited to introduce the newly elected members of its Athlete Advisory Council (NWBA AAC) for the 2025-2028 term. This council serves as the primary voice for athletes, advocating on their behalf, addressing their concerns, and fostering transparent communication with the organization.

The NWBA AAC plays a crucial role in ensuring athlete representation across decision-making processes and appointing athlete representatives to various NWBA committees, working groups, and task forces. The council will consist of five elected members, including the recently selected Team USA Athletes’ Commission Representatives, Rose Hollermann and Bailey Moody. Joining them are:

Morgan Wood – NWBA AAC Chair

Morgan Wood brings nearly 15 years of experience in wheelchair basketball as an athlete, coach, and advocate. A long-standing member of the NWBA and Team USA, Morgan has competed across multiple divisions, co-founded a collegiate program, and launched a business supporting wheelchair athletes, coaches, and staff. Morgan’s professional expertise as an international account manager at Permobil further demonstrates their leadership and strategic skills. As Chair, Morgan is committed to amplifying athlete voices, fostering inclusivity, and driving meaningful change within the NWBA.

Kimberly Champion – NWBA AAC Member

Kimberly Champion is a passionate advocate for athlete engagement and transparency. Her experience as a player and her involvement with the NWBA’s Team Selection Committee have provided her with a deep understanding of the organization’s policies and processes. Professionally, Kimberly works in patient care, where she balances diverse perspectives and advocates for her clients, skills that translate seamlessly to her role on the AAC. Kimberly is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for athletes to voice their concerns and foster stronger communication within the NWBA.

Josh George – NWBA AAC Member

Josh George is a five-time Paralympian, entrepreneur, and former wheelchair basketball player whose career spans from juniors to international competition. Josh has represented Team USA at the Parapan Games and World Championships and later transitioned to a professional wheelchair racing career. His advocacy for para-athletes has resulted in significant improvements in opportunities and recognition, particularly in global marathons. Now a successful restaurant owner, Josh applies his leadership and communication skills to strengthen athlete representation and support within the NWBA.

Together, Rose, Bailey, Morgan, Kimberly, Josh bring decades of combined experience, leadership, and dedication to the NWBA AAC. Their diverse backgrounds will help ensure that the voices of athletes across all levels of wheelchair basketball are heard and represented.
