COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. - The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) and the Men’s Under 23 Selection Committee have announced the final roster for the U.S.A. Men’s Under 23 Wheelchair Basketball Team. This roster was finalized at the conclusion of the 2025 Men’s U23 Selection Camp hosted January 16-18 at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
The final roster will represent USA at the IWBF Americas Men's U23 Championship (Zonal Qualifier), scheduled for April 2-6, 2025 in Bogota, Colombia, with the goal of securing a team spot for the 2025 IWBF Men's U23 World Championship to be hosted June 12-21, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The IWBF Men’s U23 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship is an international competition showcasing the best young male wheelchair basketball players from around the world. Zonal qualification tournaments are held in each of the four IWBF Zones (Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia Oceania) to determine the countries that qualify.
The event, held every four years, made its debut in 1997 in Toronto, Canada, and continues to be a platform for the next generation of elite athletes in the sport.
Drew Beutel (Naperville, IL) currently plays for the LWSRA Junior Varsity and Division III teams.
AJ Fitzpatrick (Cedar Rapids, IA) headlines the group of athletes after helping Team USA secure a third consecutive Paralympic Games gold medal. He made his first appearance with the U.S. Men’s National Team at the 2023 Parapan American Games, where he contributed to the team’s gold-medal victory. Fitzpatrick is currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he earned First Team All-America honors and helped the program win the 2024 NWBA Intercollegiate National Championship.
Ryan Fitzpatrick (Sherman, CT) plays collegiately at the University of Illinois, where he earned NWBA All-Rookie Team honors in 2013. Fitzpatrick began his wheelchair basketball career with the Ryan Martin Foundation (RMF).
Jude Hiley (Atlanta, GA) is currently a freshman at Auburn University. Hiley previously played for BlazeSports in the NWBA Junior Division.
Tim Houston (Ponte Vedra, FL) returns for a second time after being part of the Men’s U23 squad at the 2021 IWBF Men’s U23 World Championship in Thailand. Houston is a junior at the University of Alabama, where he helped the team win the 2023 national championship and was named Second Team All-American in 2024.
Collin Lancaster (Dacula, GA) will be continuing his U23 career. Lancaster is a junior at the University of Alabama, where he helped the program secure a national championship in 2023.
Sebastian Milan (Bronx, NY) is the only New York resident on the initial roster of the 20-player pool. Milan is a freshman at the University of Illinois, following a successful playing career with the New York Rolling Fury.
Kesean Paire (Woodville, TX) is the only representative from the University of Texas-Arlington. Paire, now a junior, began playing wheelchair basketball with TIRR Memorial Hermann.
Gavin Peterson (Heber City, UT) is a high school student currently playing with the Utah Rush in the NWBA Junior Varsity Division.
Adam Smith (Waxhaw, NC) Smith is a freshman at Auburn University after a successful junior career with the Charlotte Rollin’ Hornets, where he won a varsity national championship in 2022.
Martrell Stevens (Chicago, IL) Stevens plays collegiately at the University of Illinois and played varsity for the Ryan Martin Foundation (RMF) Trojans.
Davis Taylor (Columbia, MO) is currently playing for the Kansas City Kings in the NWBA Junior Division.
The following athletes are alternates: Kaden Bagley, Daniel Clements, Shaun Doss, Ben Edwards, Jason Foster, Eric Randolph Francis, Zach Gorecki, Preston Howell.
