COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is proud to announce that the 2026 Women's and Military Division Wheelchair Basketball National Championships will be held at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO (CSOPTC). The National Tournaments will take place April 9–12, 2026, with competition starting April 10 and concluding on April 12.
The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center-Colorado Springs (CSOPTC) is a premier training hub for Team USA athletes, featuring world-class gymnasiums, courts, and performance facilities. The venue provides a high-performance environment that supports athlete development through elite training spaces, sports medicine, and nutrition services—all designed to enhance the full athlete experience.
“We’re thrilled to bring our Women’s and Military Division National Championships to Colorado Springs—the home of the NWBA National Office and the heart of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement,” said Brandon McBeain, NWBA Chief Executive Officer. “Hosting these events at the Olympic & Paralympic Training Center highlights our commitment to celebrating excellence, competition, and community at the highest level of our sport.”
The City of Colorado Springs has also recommended Lodgers and Automobile Rental Tax (LART) funding through the 2026 LART Funding Cycle under the Sports and Community Events Pillar to support the NWBA Women’s and Military National Championships. This support will help offset a portion of event costs associated with hosting the championships in Colorado Springs.
The Championships are expected to welcome over 300 athletes and nearly 800 total attendees from across the United States, with teams traveling from as far as Washington, California, Arizona, Florida, and Virginia. The 2025 Women's Division National Championship was the largest women’s wheelchair basketball event in the organization’s history, while last year marked the third installment of the Military Division National Championship.
