Sports Biography:

Susie Grimes began her playing career in the early 1980’s with the Bay Area Meteorites of the NWBA Women’s Division; she served as Player Coach from 1987 to 1990. During this time she founded the Bay Cruisers, one of the first Junior Teams in California. She served as Head Coach from 1986 to 1989. She has played on several Women’s Division Championship Teams:

Minnesota Rolling Timberwolves 1995 & The Western Grizzlies in 1998.
Susie was picked for the NWWBT All-Tourney Team from 1984 through 1991 and in 1993

Her International Credential include

USA Women’s Gold Cup Team 1998 (Australia- Silver Medalist)
USA Women’s Gold Cup Team 1990 (France- Gold Medalist)
USA Women’s Gold Cup Team 1986 (England- Silver Medalist)

In addition she was a member of the Silver Medal Team at the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona Spain and member of the Gold Medal Team at the 1988 Paralympics in Seoul Korea. She also served as Assistant Coach to the 1996 U.S.A. Bronze Medal Women’s Paralympic Team in Atlanta Georgia

In addition to her ball playing talents and awards she has been a Good Will Representative for the United States and has toured numerous countries to promote the rights of people with disabilities. One of most noted trips came when she was part of a U.S. contingent that toured Bosnia and Croatia on behalf of the United Nations Landmine Awareness Program.

Susie has also served in several key positions in the NWBA Women’s Division including the office of President.
