NWBA Service: Eastern Conference Official

Sports Biography:

John Mulhern began officiating in the Eastern Wheelchair Basketball Conference in the early 1950’s and by 1958 was one of the best officials in the East. He worked along with two other Hall of Fame Officials – Dan DeDeo and Ted McLean. Big John, as he was called, worked in ten (10) NWBT’s and was a long time member of the NWBA Rules Committee. John also served the National Wheelchair Athletic Association (NWAA) as Chief Judge in many of the early National Wheelchair Games (sponsored by the Bulova Watch Company). The NWAA was the forerunner of Wheelchair Sports USA and John also served on their Rules Committee.
