Team History: Long Beach Flying Wheels, Pan Am Jets

Sports Biography:

One of the NWBA’s “Most Traveled Players”. Began his career with the L.A. Jets & Culver City Western Wheels. Joined the Pan-Am Jets of the Eastern Conference. Returned to California in 1964 as a member of the Championship Long Beach Flying Wheels, that had won their 5th consecutive National Title. From California, Phil moved to Florida, where he played for the Ft. Lauderdale Goldcoasters & the Orlando Wheels. In the early 80’s Phil helped start the Ft. Smith (Ar) Team. Pacific Coast Conference All-Star (1958-59-60). Southern Conference All-Star (1966). Florida Conference All-Star (1971-72-73-74 / MVP 1971). Member of USA Paralympic Basketball Team (1964-Tokyo).
