Do you want to represent our sport to athletes in Morocco?

The U.S. Department of State’s sports diplomacy division is requesting assistance from the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) in identifying two players to serve as Sports Envoys in Morocco for January 25-31, 2016. We are seeking one male and one female wheelchair basketball player (active) with experience running wheelchair basketball clinics and camps for youth and doing public speaking.

The U.S. Embassy Rabat (Morocco) will organize wheelchair basketball clinics, a two-day camp, and exhibition games in three cities with the following goals in mind: 1) To strengthen the wheelchair basketball movement in Morocco and 2) To promote inclusiveness among Moroccans vis-à-vis people with physical disabilities.

The U.S. Department of State will cover the cost of airfare, lodging, ground transportation, meals and incidentals, and visa fees.  The Sports Envoys will conduct wheelchair basketball clinics, speak at motivational sessions, and do media appearances.  Each Sport Envoy will receive a $200 a day honorarium for each of the four days of clinics and sessions.

Individuals interested in applying for this opportunity should provide a letter of interest and resume or curriculum vitae outlining your wheelchair basketball background and your coaching/instructor and public speaking experience to Jeff Jones at jeffjones@nwba.org before close of business on Friday, November 20, 2015.
