Colorado Springs, Colo. – The NWBA announced Wednesday that Brandon McBeain of Colorado Springs, Colorado, will join the National Office staff as the Director, Membership Services and Programs, on August 8. This is a new position for the NWBA and is dedicated to servicing all members and identifying new program opportunities. McBeain, who was the treasurer of the NWBA Junior Division since 2012, comes to the NWBA with an expansive background in sports administration. 

He will oversee the management and implementation of all aspects of the NWBA Membership program, including the management and implementation of the NWBA Registration process, event sanctioning, and serve as the primary contact for grassroots programs and NWBA Divisions. He will assist with tournament execution for the NWBT, Collegiate Nationals and Women’s Nationals, as well as assist with camps, demonstrations and clinics. He will be focused on growing the NWBA membership programming including Club/Team development, Coaches Education, Officials Education and player development.

“Brandon has a wealth of experience that will further advance the NWBA and has a great deal of knowledge and expertise with NWBA grassroots programming,” said Jim Scherr, NWBA Executive Director. “We are pleased to welcome Brandon to the National Office staff and look forward to his continued dedication to the NWBA.”

Most recently, he was the Membership Experience Director for the Garden Ranch YMCA in Colorado Springs. In his role, he was responsible for $2.1 million in revenue that resulted in $1.4 million in net assets. He provided customer service to approximately 11,000 members and developed marketing strategies to promote member experience and retention. Prior to this role, McBeain was the Sports Director at the YMCA from 2013-15.

McBeain, originally from Minnesota, found his passion for Paralympic sport working at the Courage Center as the Sports Program Coordinator from 2011-13. He administered all aspects of programming for seven wheelchair basketball teams; three wheelchair softball teams; and involved in numerous adaptive sports program camps, events, and tournaments.

Following college, his career started at Haberman Brand Public Relations Firm focusing on the 2010 United States Pond Hockey Championships in Minneapolis, and working for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as the Assistant to Chief of Stadium in Whistler British Columbia.

McBeain received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, and went on to earn a master’s degree in Sports Management from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
