Colorado Springs, Colo. – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association, the high performance management organization for wheelchair basketball in the United States, has launched its first organizational and team specific brand campaigns in advance of the Paralympic Games, September 7-18, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The campaign highlighting the U.S. Men’s and Women’s wheelchair basketball teams is entitled “ROLL WITH U.S.” and features several print and digital executions.

A second campaign with over-arching positioning includes the organization’s logo and new tagline “ROLL MODELS”.  Print and digital executions will be featured more prominently, including several new grassroots displays following Rio Paralympic Games, which will feature Junior and Adult Divisions teams and players.

Short movies of both the men’s and women’s teams highlight the brand attributes positioning the teams going into the Rio Paralympics were also created.

“The NWBA is a great organization with a rich history in the Paralympic movement,” said Jim Scherr, NWBA Executive Director. “We wanted to create an aspirational campaign that fostered new and contemporary images that positioned the organization for both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. And, in building campaigns around our elite men’s and women’s teams, we thought it was important to further position the organization to the corporate community and our core constituents for the future. These are all foundational building blocks for a great future.”

The campaigns feature current NWBA men’s and women’s national team athletes and were shot in July and August during their respective training camps. Additional interviews of each athlete were also shot.

The campaigns were created by KOM Sports Marketing of Colorado Springs, Colorado, which has re-freshed and built campaigns for numerous world-class events and sports organizations, including the award-winning 2020 Vision: Keep The Dream Alive campaign that led to keeping wrestling in the Olympics in 2013.
