COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – University of Missouri’s Marshall Lindsay of Stansbury Park, Utah, earned the NWBA Intercollegiate Player of the Week Honors for November 28, marking the first student-athlete to earn back-to-back honors and for the second time in the 2016-17 season. Lindsay’s performance for the week was recognized by the voting poll of college coaches and NWBA social network fans.

Lindsay, a junior at Mizzou, paced the Tigers to a 3-1 record at the Mizzou Collegiate Weekend, December 2-3. He led the team in scoring, rebounding and assists. He was the top scorer for the University of Missouri in all four games. On the season, Lindsay scores 23.5 points per game, and pulls down almost 8 rebounds and dishes out 4.5 assists per game. According to Missouri Head Coach and U.S. Men’s Paralympic Games Head Coach Ron Lykins, “His leadership was key to the overall team performance.”

Two University of Nebraska at Omaha athlete were also in contention. Jeromie Meyer of Woodbine, Nebraska, and Brent Regier of Henderson, Nebraska. Meyer scored a team high 88 points in four games at the Mizzou Collegiate Weekend. Meyer has paced the Mavericks throughout the early part of the NWBA Intercollegiate season averaging over 20 points per game.

Regier, a sophomore at UNO, is the second leading scorer for the Mavericks with just over 15 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. At the Mizzou Collegiate Weekend, Regier had a breakout tournament putting up 59 points in four games and snagging over 10 rebounds per game.

The NWBA Intercollegiate Player of the Week is determined by the NWBA college coaches by ranking the weekly nominees and accounts for 80 percent of the total points, while NWBA Facebook and Twitter fans account for the remaining 20 percent of the point total. The NWBA college coaches nominate players to the NWBA headquarters on Monday following games. Those who cast a ballot rank all players, with No. 1 votes earning 10 points, No. 2 votes earning 9 points, No. 3 earning 8 points, etc. If there is a tie, the athlete with the most No. 1 votes wins, and will continue to break the tie down to the total of No. 3 votes. If still tied after No. 3 are counted, then the players are named NWBA Intercollegiate Co-Athletes of the Week.
