MARSHALL, MN - The NWBA is saddened by the loss of John Herndon, NWBA member and student-athlete of the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs of the Intercollegiate Division. Herdon passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

"The NWBA and its Board of Directors are deeply saddened by the loss of John Herndon. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Herndon family, friends, teammates and the SMSU community" said NWBA President Sarah Castle.

Prior to this season, Herndon was a member of the Detroit Diehards of the Division III for the 2015-2016 NWBA season. Herdon has been playing wheelchair basketball for more than five years.
