2017-18 NWBA Membership Registration Information

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO - The NWBA continues NWBA Membership Week with summary of the information necessary to complete the Team and Individual Registrations for the 2017-18 NWBA season. Information collected during registration will continue to build profiles to sync info on future registrations. The NWBA streamlined the registration process as certifications and documentation will be connected to your profile for quick reference and verification.

To complete Team and Individual Registrations please visit www.nwba.org. You will need a SportsEngine account to complete all registrations with the NWBA. The team registration includes any group of individuals organized as a team or club for the purpose of playing wheelchair basketball. The Early Team Registration starts at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17 and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 31. Open Team Registration is available starting on Tuesday, August 1.

All teams will have an opportunity to establish a payment plan with all dues being paid in full by November 1. The payment plan for one-team is that 50 percent of the dues be paid upon registration, with the remaining balance due no later than November 1. Any organization that has two or more teams, will have to pay in full for one team, and then the remaining balance is due no later than November 1. Any team who has not paid in full by November 1 will be ineligible for 2017-18 NWBA post season tournaments, and the team will not be a member in good standing until all dues are paid in full.

Individual registration includes the following Individual Membership Categories per Article IV of the NWBA Bylaws: Athlete; Coach; Official; Classification; Team Representative; Statistician; Athletic Trainer; Team Classification Reviewer; Equipment Manager; Administrator; Volunteer; Divisional and Conference Leadership; Board Directors; Hall of Fame; and Affiliate. Individual Registration will be separated into two categories: Athlete and Non-Athlete.

The Early Individual Registration starts at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1 and closes at 11:59 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22. Open Individual Registration is available starting on Wednesday, August 23.

All individual members only need to pay membership dues once, regardless of the number of roles they represent in the NWBA. Volunteers and Hall of Fame Members will have their individual membership dues waived. A Membership Fee Waiver Request is available for, however not limited to, individuals with significant financial hardship. Only one entry for Athlete Registration is required for athletes rostered on multiple teams.

Athletes that also serve in Non-Athlete roles should complete Athlete Registration prior to Non-Athlete Registration.

  • All Non-Athletes must successfully pass SafeSport

      • Valid for two years from date of completion

      • Complete no later than September 30 or within 45 days of registering

  • Officials

    • Must successfully complete the Officials Test on annual basis

  • Coaches

    • Must successfully complete NWBA Level I Coach Certification

  • Team Classification Reviewer

    • Must successfully complete the Team Classification Reviewer Test

      • Valid for two years from date of completion

      • Complete no later than September 30 or within 45 days of registering

Only one entry for Non-Athlete Registration is required for individuals serving in various roles.

*Payment options are available for teams and organizations to cover individual registration dues of team athletes and non-athletes.
