NWBA Board of Directors Re-Elects Sarah Castle as President

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – The NWBA Board of Directors re-elected Sarah Castle as President for a two-year term, on Monday’s teleconference call. The Board of Directors also elected the other officer positions, who will also be serving two-year terms.

Castle, a four-time U.S. Paralympian in swimming and wheelchair basketball, will continue serving as NWBA President. She won a gold medal in 2008 in wheelchair basketball, and is a 2000 silver medalist in swimming. Professionally, Castle is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Kansas City, Missouri. She was first elected as president in 2015.

Bruce Fischbach and Curtis Lease were re-elected as vice president and treasurer, respectively. Tim Fox, who was recently re-elected to the board of directors, was elected as the secretary.

Fischbach has dedicated his time working with Special Olympics, minor league baseball, youth athletics and athletes in the NWBA. He has also served as a tournament director and junior conference commissioner for the NWBA. He is the Assistant Athletic Director for sports medicine at University of South Dakota. His wife, Kelly, is active with wheelchair basketball as well, and coaches the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Nebraska Red Dawgs Teams.

Lease will continue his position as treasurer and is currently the business manager at Western DuPage Special Recreation Association. Curtis played for the Chicago Wheelchair Bulls and was among 24 NWBA players that were chosen to play for the NWBA East All-Star Team.

Tim Fox takes over the secretary position that was previously filled by Scott Voskovitch, who resigned in April. Fox is currently the head coach and general manager of the Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers. One of Fox’s major accomplishments was helping establish the Junior Wheelchair Cavaliers. Fox has also served as a member of the NWBA Division III Committee. He is currently the Assistant Vice President Branch Manger for PNC Bank.
