COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – The NWBA Adult Division Executive Committee announced the seeds for Adult Division I, II and III for the 2018 NWBA National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament presented by ABC Medical. With the final seeds being announced for the Adult Divisions, all brackets are now available for the here.

The Adult Division I tournament seeds sees some interesting rankings at the top. The New York Rollin’ Knicks of Floral Park, New York are heading into the tournament at the one seed after only losing its first game this season and going undefeated for the rest, finishing with a record of 15-1. They have been neck and neck in the standings all season with the Sacramento Rollin’ Kings of Davis, California, who are the two seed. The winners of 15 of the last 20 DI championships, the Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks of Arlington, Texas will look to add another championship to its resume, coming into the tournament as the three seed. The University of Arizona Wildcats of Tucson, Arizona will start the tournament as the four seed.

In the Adult Division II tournament, the NMCSD Wolf Pack of San Diego, California have earned the top seed after going undefeated since January 28 and finishing the season with a 32-14 overall record. The Nassau Kings of Elmont, New York, who were the one seed at last year’s NWBT, come in as the number two seed of the Adult Division II tournament. The Ft. Lauderdale Sharks of Fort Lauderdale, Florida enter as the third seed and the Austin Rec’ers of Austin, Texas will round out the top four in the Adult Division II tournament.

The Connecticut Spokebenders of Meriden, Connecticut head into the Adult Division III tournament as the top seed. The Spokebenders have been undefeated since December 9 and hold an overall season record of 21-1. They are followed by the TIRR Memorial Hermann Hotwheels of Houston, Texas as the two seed for Adult Division III. Rounding out the top four for Adult Division III are the third seeded RHI Pacers of Indianapolis, IN and four seed Columbus WC Basketball Club of Dayton, Ohio. 

The tournament play for the Adult Division (DI, DII & DIII) at the 2018 NWBT is scheduled for Thursday, April 12 to Saturday, April 14 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The Adult Division II National Championship Game will kick off the title games at 2 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, April 13. The Adult Division I National Championship Game will tip at 4 p.m. and the Adult Division III National Championship will immediately follow at 6 p.m. All Adult Division championship games will be held on Court 3 of South Wing C in the Kentucky Expo Center.

The 2018 NWBT presented by ABC Medical will be host to a total of 96 teams represented from the Adult and Junior Divisions. The Adult Division will feature 16 teams from Adult Division I, Adult Division II and Adult Division III. The Junior Division will be highlighted by the top 16 ranked teams in Varsity and Prep divisions. In total, five national championship titles will be awarded at the 2018 NWBT. The Junior Varsity Division will also feature the National Invitational Tournament, which includes a field of 16 teams competing for a tournament championship.
