Coaches Applications available for 2019 U.S. Women’s U25 World Championship Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The NWBA is excited to announce it is accepting coach applications for the 2019 U.S. U25 Women’s World Championship Team. The NWBA is accepting applications for one head coach and up to two assistant coaches for the 2019 U.S. Women’s U25 Wheelchair Basketball Coaching positions.

The U.S. Women’s U25 World Championship Team will comprise of 12 athletes that will compete at the 2019 IWBF Women’s U25 Wheelchair Basketball World Champions on May 22 to May 30, 2019 in Suphanburi, Thailand.

All coaches interested in applying for the U.S. Women’s U25 World Championship Team must submit an application no later than November 30, 2018. Please read the attached Coach Selection Procedures for a complete list of coach eligibility requirements.

All coaches must be willing and able to attend the 2019 U.S. Women’s Selection Camp, training camps and 2019 IWBF Women’s U25 Wheelchair Basketball World Champions. The 2019 U.S. Women’s Selection Camp is being held on January 13-17, 2019 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

All interested coaches must fill out the attached application and submit to Brandon McBeain at
brandonmcbeain@nwba.org by November 30, 2018, for consideration.

About U.S. U25 Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team
The U.S. Women’s U25 Wheelchair Basketball Team is an international development team that serves as our pipeline to the U.S. Women’s National Team. This program gives our elite youth athletes the opportunity to compete at the international level, obtain their official IWBF Classification and may be entered into the pipeline of athletes for future U.S. Women’s Teams. Team USA won gold at the innurgal IWBF Women’s U25 World Championship in 2011 held in St. Catharines, Canada. The U.S. did not participate in the event in 2015 in Beijing, China.
