Minnesota Rolling Rowdies and TIRR Memorial Hermann Hotwheels Remain on Top

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO- The Junior Division Executive Committee has announced the Junior Division Power Ranking for the month of January for the Prep and Varsity levels of play.

Prep- Staying on top of the pack at No. 1 and No. 2 from Decembers Power Rankings are the Minnesota Rolling Rowdies and the Bennett Blazers. Cracking into the top five this week into the No. 3 spot is the Nebraska Red Dawgs, who were previously ranked at the No. 8 spot in December. And rounding out the top 5 includes some familiar faces, the Lakeshore Sharks and the Synergy Jr. Bulls.

Varsity- The power rankings for this month haven’t changed much from December. The TIRR Memorial Hermann Jr. Hotwheels remain at the top at No.1 for January. The No. 2 Minnesota Jr. Rolling Timberwolves and No. 3 WASA Jr. Bucks switch spots in the power rankings this month with the Bucks moving to No. 2 and Timberwolves at No. 3. While some teams in the top 5 have been moving around, the BlazeSports Jr. Hawks remain at the No. 4 ranking for the second straight month. The Chicago Skyhawks leapfrog the Nebraska Red Dawgs this month to finish up the Top 5 for the Junior Varsity Division.

The top 16 ranked teams for Varsity will earn an invite to play in the 2019 Toyota National Varsity Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. Teams ranked 17-32 will receive an invite to participate in the 2019 Toyota National Varsity Invitational Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. If a team does not accept their bid for postseason play, invitations will be sent to the next team, in order of ranking, until both tournaments are filled.

The Toyota National Junior Prep, Varsity and Varsity Invitational Wheelchair Basketball Tournaments will be held March 29-31 in New Lenox, IL.
