Colorado Springs, Colorado – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) announced Friday that it has extended it’s sponsorship agreement with ABC Medical, continuing the long-standing relationship.  ABC Medical is the presenting sponsor of the 2019 Toyota National Prep, Varsity, Varsity Invitational, Division I and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Tournaments as part of their agreement. In the spirit of celebrating the future of the NWBA, ABC Medical is also the presenting sponsor for the 2019 NWBA Junior Division Annual Banquet; this will be a celebration of the athletes and their success on the court and in the classroom.

ABC Medical is a national leader in providing medical supplies including urological, incontinence, ostomy, wound care, and bowel management products. They offer customers a life-changing experience through their legendary customer service and a strong understanding of athletes’ needs. Each year, ABC Medical contributes resources to athletes and adaptive sports organizations because they believe being active leads to a healthier and improved quality of life. ABC Medical is a leader in supporting adaptive sports nationwide and is active in championing emerging wheelchair basketball programs across the nation.

“For over 10 years, ABC Medical has had the privilege of supporting the players, coaches, and families of the NWBA,” said Keith W. Jones, Chairman of ABC Medical. “Motivated by our mission, “To Do Well by Doing Good”, we are excited to continue our long-standing partnership with the NWBA in 2019, and support its ongoing growth efforts that focus on creating greater opportunities for athletes with disabilities. Together, ABC Medical and the NWBA are driven to provide the resources and support for wheelchair basketball players throughout the United States to adapt, believe and compete, each and every day.”
One new initiative for the NWBA and ABC Medical is the development of the ABC Medical webpage, that will be housed on the NWBA website (
www.nwba.org/abc). This new content will be focused on increasing awareness of wheelchair basketball and adaptive sports while engaging members through a series of interviews and stories. This new media archive will also provide NWBA members with a new platform to learn about industry-leading medical supplies and resources to maintain a healthy lifestyle as an athlete.

Sarah Castle, NWBA President, expressed her gratitude for the chance to extend this relationship with ABC Medical. “As we think of partners, we value organizations who want to enable the growth of our sport by focusing on the foundation of our organization, grassroots programs,” Castle said. “ABC has been doing that for many years now, and we are excited about their continued involvement.”

The NWBA and ABC Medical will also cross-promote programs to members and adaptive sports enthusiasts through their respective social network channels. This includes a collaborative celebration of National Adaptive Sports Month, held in April each year, to raise awareness about the positive impact of wheelchair basketball.

The unity of two power players in wheelchair basketball was a point of emphasis for Dave Kiley, NWBA Hall of Famer and global icon in the sport. “Our sport of wheelchair basketball and the NWBA are on the rebound in the biggest and brightest of ways,” Kiley said. “ABC Medical has been a difference maker and valued teammate from its beginning in supporting the organization, its players, teams, and tournaments! Adapt, Believe and Compete -- a purposeful tagline from a company with great ‘Soul’.”

The Toyota National Adult Division I Wheelchair Basketball Tournament presented by ABC Medical will occur on Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 24 at the City of Tallmadge Recreation Center in Tallmadge, OH. The 2019 Toyota National Women’s, Prep, Varsity, and Varsity Invitational Wheelchair Basketball Tournament presented by ABC Medical will be held on Friday, March 29 to Sunday, March 31 in and around the area of New Lenox, IL at four different venues.
