U.S. Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team Set to Compete in Ottawa Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. - As part of final preparation for next month’s 2022 IWBF World Championships, the U.S. Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team will travel north to compete in the Ottawa Invitational tournament on May 19-20 at Carleton University Ravens’ Nest.  

Team USA will open against Canada on May 19 at 7:30 AM (MT) followed by the Netherlands at 4:00 PM (MT). The next day, Team USA will take on Canada again at 11:30 AM (MT) followed by the Netherlands at 4:00 PM (MT). 

Fans will be able to watch the action, which includes games against Canada and the Netherlands, on CBC Sports digital platforms, including the free CBC Gem streaming service, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices, as well as on WBC’s YouTube channel.  

The 2022 IWBF World Championships are slated for June 9-20 in Dubai, United Emirates. Team USA is slated to compete in ‘Group D’ of the men’s competition. Click here to view the complete competition schedule for IWBF World Championships.   

Viewers will be able to follow the journey of some of the United States’ top Paralympians, including Steve Serio (Westbury, NY), Brian Bell (Birmingham, AL), Trevon Jenifer (Huntington, MD), Jorge Sanchez (Oakland, CA), John Boie (Milton, WI), Ryan Neiswender (Lebanon, PA), and Jake Williams (Milwaukee, WI), among others.
