COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) and Board of Directors are excited to announce the appointment of Kelly Fischbach as Intercollegiate Division Commissioner.

Fischbach joins the Intercollegiate ranks after spending several years working with the Junior Division. Fischbach served in various leadership roles for the NWBA including as the Conference Commissioner for the Junior Northern Conference and on the selection committee for the annual NWBA Junior Division Academic Awards. Fischbach worked to grow the Junior Division by lending a helping hand to athletes and coaches throughout the nation and serving as a true contributor in the Junior Division.

“I am excited to start this next chapter of working within the NWBA,” said Fischbach. The Intercollegiate Division has so much to offer our athletes and I’m looking forward to re-engaging with the people in this group.”

In addition, Fischbach worked with the NWBA’s Junior Division Nebraska Red Dawgs, helping the program to four NWBA National Championships in 2008 (Prep and Varsity Junior Divisions), 2011, and 2012. In 2020, she was the recipient of the Dr. Robert Syzman Leadership Award.

In 2017, she served as Team Leader for the USA Men’s U23 Wheelchair Basketball Team that competed at the 2017 IWBF U23 World Championships.

Fischbach is the mother of Dylan Fischbach, who played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and was a two-time NWBA Intercollegiate Division Player of the Year (2018 and 2019). He was also named an alternate for the U.S. Men’s National Teams that competed at the 2019 Lima Parapan American Games and 2022 Americas Cup.
