COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. - The National Wheelchair Basketball Association and the High-Performance Committee are excited to announce, “The Rocky Mountain Cup”, which will take place at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO, from February 14-21, 2024. This event will serve as an opportunity for athletes participating to receive a classification from the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF).

The event is part of a talent identification process in alignment with other initiatives outlined in the NWBA High Performance Plan; providing opportunities for international classification in order to development pipeline athletes and complete the IWBF Player Evaluation Process (receiving final Sport Class and Sport Class Status). This event is one of many initiatives that supports the long-term goals of the NWBA High Performance Program. The goal of this Tournament is to complete the IWBF International Classification process for as many high-performance pool athletes as possible.

This event is NOT part of the selection process for a U.S. National Team nor the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games Teams. This event is intended to provide an opportunity for players to get their IWBF Sport Class, Sport Class Status and Classification Card.

A total 38 athletes from the United States (20 women and 18 men) will take part in the event. Additional athletes participating in this event will be from Canada and Italy.
