2017 Wayne Kunishige Memorial Scholarship

Call for Applications

The NWBA is pleased to announce the 15th annual Wayne Scholarship. Named to honor the memory of NWBA player and wheelchair innovator Wayne Kunishige, the scholarship was endowed by his family and friends. The award is a $1,000 scholarship check.

The scholarship will be presented  at the 2017 National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament in Louisville at the Junior Division Banquet to a NWBA player who is a high school senior and planning to attend college or other educational endeavors in the Fall 2017. All high school senior players with a grade point average of 3.0 or better are invited to apply.
