Tim Stout

Tim Stout, a member of the Quint City Roughriders wheel chair basketball team, received the award in the non-competitors or contributors category, along with Leroy Ransom, of Brazil.

This year's four inductees in the NWBA Hall of Fame competitor's category are Pam Fontaine, of Texas; Tony Levis, of New Jersey; Joe Manni, of Pennsylvania; and the late Randy Snow, of Texas.

Mr. Stout's wheelchair basketball career has spanned more than 40 years and he has been involved in organization, motivating, recruiting and officially representing NWBA teams for 22 years. In addition to the Quint City Roughriders, he has also been involved with the Heart of Illinois Hiwaymen and the Rockford Chariots.

He has won many awards and medals on the court and received several medals in competing at the Paralympics Games, including a gold in track and field while competing in Greve, Denmark in 1982, and three medals -- a gold for club throw and silver medals for the 100 meters and discus -- for track and field in Edinburgh, Scotland.

He was named class IV National Champion in 1977 for track and field in Hartford, Conn., and set 12 national records while competing in 16 track and field events in 1976 to become National Class IV champion.

He earned the NWBA Spirit Award in 2005 and in 2007 he was honored with the NWBA Outstanding Dedicated Service award as Division III Chairman.
