2023 USA Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Rocky Mountain Showdown Announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. – The National Wheelchair Basketball Association is excited to announce the 2023 USA Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Rocky Mountain Showdown which will feature the USA Women’s National Team playing six exhibition games against the Wheelchair Basketball Canada Women’s National Team and Wheelchair Basketball Australia Women’s National Team. 

The Rocky Mountain Showdown will be held at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. The Rocky Mountain Showdown will showcase three games a day from Thursday, May 18, to Saturday, May 20. The tip-off times for the games each day will be 9:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Mountain time.

The participating athletes for the 2023 Team USA Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team will include the 12 athletes that were selected at the conclusion of the recently held 2023 Toyota Team USA Women’s Selection Camp in April. 

The 2023 USA Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Rocky Mountain Showdown will serve as a competitive training opportunity for Team USA for the rescheduled 2022 IWBF World Championships which will be held in Dubai on June 9-20, 2023. The USA team is slated to compete in ‘Group A’ of the women’s competition at the IWBF World Championships, click here to view the complete competition schedule for IWBF World Championships. The World Championships is one of the opportunities for Team USA to qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. 
Head Coach Christina Schwab will lead Team USA into action, assisted on the bench by Desiree Miller and Ryan HynesNikki Campbell serves as the Team Leader, with Jennifer Kingsby filling the athletic trainer position.
